Cinetree Life on Hold

Life on Hold is a short documentary film about universal feelings of longing and displacement. With the war in Ukraine raging on for over a year, six persons share their heartfelt story of leading a life on hold, uncertain of what the future will bring.

Inspired by a photo series by photographer Eelco Wortman, director Luuk Walschot initiated the project with Ukrainian cinematographer Sveta Aparina. Life on Hold was released a year after the start of the war on Cinetree and in debate centre De Balie.
